Get Carried Away

Get Carried Away
I Certainly Am!

I haven't been down to examine the billboards in Times Square recently, but all over the Upper East Side (my neighbourhood, and Carrie Bradshaw's) there are Sex and the City movie posters all over the bus shelters. The movie is slated to open May 2008.

Apparently, for the last few months, there has been a ton of filming happening in the UES (and other parts of Manhattan) but unfortunately I never was at the right place at the right time to catch the action live.

I am so excited for this movie to come out as a way to see my favourite on-screen girls unite one last time for more adventures in the city!

I think SATC is absolutely one of the most brilliant, intelligent, provocative shows in the history of TV! (my opinion ofcourse) I think that the women on SATC are so smart, sexy, and sassy. I enjoy immensely watching their life struggles; their romantic and personal struggles and journeys; their heartaches, joys, frustrations, independence - everything. I think there is a certain level of fun, truth, and honesty and humour that is not found in many other shows and such a wonderful cohesiveness among the 4 women. I can't honestly decide who is my favourite. (Think I would have to choose Samantha).

I do not think SATC could easily happen in any other North American city. NYC is fantastic, or the "headquarters of the world" as a friend of mine refers to it as. It has so much character, might, diversity, and richness. The might can be felt by some of the wealth that is here (places where only the elite can afford and the world famous haute couture that is found here). The might can also be felt by the exuberance of the throngs of people and the 24-7 life (the city that never sleeps). In Manhattan there is honestly no difference between 6pm vs 8pm vs 10pm vs 11pm and on a Fri or Sat night there is no difference between 11pm vs 1am etc ---- time seems to be suspended here.

There is *always* something to do here, somewhere to go, somewhere that is open, etc. We see this very well in SATC. This is also one of the things I love about the show: to live vicariously through each of these women...to see the places in the city where they eat, drink, socialize - as they would tend to be the hippest and best of what NY has to offer. But above all else, what I love about it the most is: Their conversations, struggles, observations, opinions, and situations are very real! I also think it's such a REAL INSIDE look into the world of dating and relationships. These are fierce and adventurous women who are so sassy and vibrant and who always have a sharp and humourous opinion, I love it! And I can't wait for the movie! I know there are alot of fans of the show reading this.....any predictions, thoughts?
Mr. Big is still my #1 choice for Carrie - a real good match i think. Used to like Aiden but he's a boy compared to Big.
