London: Camden Market w/Aarti

Aarti took me to the (awesome!!!) Camden Market where we had fancy cocktails at the Gilgamesh Restaurant Bar Lounge. Their website is a bit nerdy, but the inside is hella cool - trust me. "Set in the heart of Stables Market, Gilgamesh is a critically acclaimed pan-Asian restaurant...perfectly fused with the exotic imagery and mystique of the Babylonian era. Gilgamesh leaves guests in awe of its opulent decor, entertainment, and unparalleled dining experience". (taken from http://www.gilgameshbar.com/
After we walked around the Market where we went shopping. The Market has a vibrant and exciting feel! A mix of tourists, Londoners, funky, hip, cool, trendy! Loud music playing; International stalls of food with delicious smells wafting through the air; dozens and dozens of other stalls with merchants selling (everything)...and the best --- great people, energy, music, food, and drinks! See some of it for yourself in the video below!

Having a Blonde @ The Rhino

Tania and I have dinner at The Rhino on Queen Street West. The Leffe Blonde reminds me of Jerome.
I highly recommend this place: warm and friendly waitresses; 3 rooms to choose room - all with a different ambiences - the room Tania and I sat in had a skylight - but it was getting dark; cool lights inside; pinball machines, pool table, and most of all CHEAP and good quality food - with 343 types of beer to choose from. I was in heaven and can't wait to go back!

Yasemin takes Ania, Jerome, and I out for Sunday Brunch at the "Güllüoglu Baklava Cafe"

on 2nd Avenue at 52nd Street. She also does a very good job at explaining the food to us.

Calling Jerome

Lina and I call Jerome to invite him out for Saturday night fun in NYC. We were inviting him to come out to a Burlesque Show at "The Slipper Room" in the Lower East Side.

Lunch w/Lina in SoHo

Lina and I lunch @ Bar89 in SoHo (89 Mercer Street).

She ordered a serving of "Hell's Fire Chips".

Lunch w/Jonathan @ Katz's Delicatessen

This guy is M.I.A in Toronto. We happened to be in NYC at the same time so I invited him out to the famous Katz's Delicatessen down on Houston Street in the Lower East Side. Katz's has been around still 1888 (yes, 1888) and still going strong.

Crêpes with Ilana

Ilana and I saw a film at the "Rendezvous With Madness" Film Festival tonight with Ankur and Marcos and we also had dinner with them afterwards. This was her first time meeting Marcos and her first time meeting Ankur since we first met her at the Jem Convention a couple of months ago. After they leave we go for dessert at Café Crêpe on Queen West and I get the scoop on what she thought of them.

California Sandwiches

Located in Toronto's Little Italy, California Sandwiches make Subway and the rest of chains look like a joke.

This restaurant is family owned and operated since 1967.
It's best not to go there during peak hours on a weekend.  You'll have a very long wait.  I've been eating their veal sandwiches for years and tonight the boys try their steak sandwiches for the first time.  The sandwiches are very reasonably priced at under 8 bucks a pop, and you WILL be full and happy afterwards.

Sunday Brunch @ the Turkish Kitchen

Yasemin, the social butterfly, organizes a group brunch in Gramercy at a place called "Turkish Kitchen".  I met new people, ate fine food, and had lots of laughs!

Dinner @ Veselka Restaurant w/Ania

Ania and I head down to the East Village for dinner @ 1:05am.  This 24 hour Ukrainian Diner was full and there were more people coming in.  I love New York.

Susan's B-Day Dinner @ Frankie Tomatoes

This restaurant sucks.  I'm not even going to provide you with the details on where it's located in this post because you should never go there.  Cheap quality food, zero celebration or perks for your birthday (unless you pay extra for it!!!!!!!!!!)...I treated my mom and sis to celebrate my sister's birthday.  Wish we knew the experience would have been so awful.

30.1 @ Hernando's Hideaway

During the Xmas holidays (including New Years and my Birthday) I was in Hungary visiting Emma and Mello.  When I got back, my guys were away on a Cruise...so that means my Toronto Birthday celebrations were delayed about a month - hence it being called 30.1!

Dinner @ Haxen

The last supper of my 2 week long vacation was at Haxen with Mello and Evi.  Haxen has been operating since 1893 and is still going strong!

This restaurant is one of the most popular in the city and according to their website is where "all the famous artists, politicians, sportsmen, and businessmen have already been".

Mello, Uncut and Uncensored - Dessert

Part 2 of our night at Vakvarju.  Mello continues to be delightful and entertaining.  She also explains our Hungarian pancake dessert and takes pleasure (again) in poking fun at me.  I had a great time!
